NFL and NBA

Since the MLB season is over and it won't start until April I'm going to start talking about the National Football League and the National Basketball League! My favorite basketball team is the Los Angeles Lakers and they won the 2009 NBA championship against the Orlando Magic. They have 15 NBA championships which is the second most behind the Boston Celtics who have 17. Last night the Lakers crushed the New Orleans Hornets 104-88 so now they have a 6-1 record and are tied for first in their division. Now the San Diego Chargers are my favorite football team. With their quarterback, Phillip Rivers and their runningback, Ladainian Tomlinson(LT) the Chargers are unbeatable. After getting off to a slow start, the Chargers have come back in their division. Last night the Chargers played the Giants and it was a great game. The score was 20-14 and there were 20 seconds left. Phillip Rivers threw a touchdown to Vincent Jackson to tie the game and then Nate Kaeding made a field goal to win the game 21-20. The Chargers(5-3) are second in their division behind the Denver Broncos(6-1) who will play the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight. Lets go Lakers.. and Chargers!

Yankees win 27th World Series

The New York Yankees have just won the 2009 World Series against the Philadelphia Philles in 6 games. The final score was 7-3 thanks to Derek Jeter and Hideki Matsui's 3 hits. So now the Yankees have a total of 27 World Series titles which is the most all time. Congratulations to both teams and next season will be even more competitive than this one. Andy Petite got the win and Mariano Rivera got the save. I predict that next season the Yankees will win it all again and they'll be more dominiant than ever. This was the Yankees first World Series since 2000 when they beat the New York Mets. Congrats to the 2009 World Series Champs, The New York Yankees!

So what is Voicethread? Voicethread is a website in which you can talk with others and show images, videos, and much more. It's a new way to start a conversation with others. The reason you would probably use this in school would be if you wanted to express your images and thoughts with others. At the same time you learn from the other person. At home you could use this website to share pictures of your baseball game or vacation with your friends. This website is very helpful in many ways. I love it!

Image Generator

The cool thing about this site is that you could make goofy covers, posters, and much more. Image Chef was great and it was a ton of fun to make my own personalized jersey! Unfortunately, Comic Strip Generator was different. I spent 90 minutes trying to just get a picture on the website, but it kept switching my image with a puppy. I give Image Chef 5 stars, but I give comic strip generator none! Two thumbs down.

Phillies come back to win Game 4!

Even though the Phillies allowed the Yankees to come back, they were still able to hold them off in the ninth. Thanks to two homeruns by Chase Utley, the Phillies won 8-6. Now the series is back in the Bronx where Andy Petite will have a chance to win it all against Pedro Martinez!

Quick Fact: Utley's five homeruns this World Series ties him with Reggie Jackson for the most in a WS!

Game 4

Thanks to Alex Rodriguez's game winning double in Monday's game, the Yankees haver taken a 3-1 game lead in the World Series. The final score of the game was 8-5, but the series still isn't over beacuse the Yankees have to win in Philadelphia to do that. If the Yankees win it will be their 27 championship which is the most in MLB history! Let's see what happens tonight!

Yanks win Game 3!

Thanks to A-Rod and Andy Petite, the Yankees won Game 3 8-5. After the Phillies took a 3-0 lead the Yankees came back with a 2 run homer of their own and ended up winning in Philadelphia. Now the Yankees have taken back home field advantage and tonight C.C. Sabathia will take on Joe Blanton. It will be a great game!

Yankees come back to win Game 2!

My prediction was correct. The Yankees did win Game 2. The final score was 3-1 thanks to homeruns by Hideki Matsui(NYY) and Mark Teixeira(NYY). Now the World Series is tied at one game a piece. Both teams have a very good chance of winning this series so it'll be very competitive. The next game is on Saturday as Andy Petite(NYY) will take on Cole Hamels(PHI).This will be a World Series to remember!

Phillies win game 1?

Wow! The Phillies just crushed the Yankees tonight. It was a pitching battle of two Cy Young Award winners. Cliff Lee(PHI) and C.C. Sabathia(NYY). Unfortunately late in the game, C.C. gave up five runs while on the otherhand, Lee was pretty much unhittable. It looks like the Phillies have a lot of confidence, but I know the Yankees will come back because tomorrow A.J. Burnett of the Yankees will out pitch Pedro Martinez of the Phils. The final score of the game was 6-1 but the Yankees never and I mean never give up without a fight, especially if it's the World Series.

It's never over until the fat lady sings!

How could you use Flickr to post pictures for your family to see?

The first thing you could do is add them as a friend. When you finish doing that you could post pictures and videos that you can choose to be private, public, or invite only. For example, if you want to post a picture of your baby brother or friend, you would keep it private. If you posted a picture of a professional athlete or famous actress, you would probably make it public. Some things you post, you might not want others to see so on Flickr you have a choice. Also if you have a friend who's your contact on Flickr you could send them pictures and videos online. Flickr is a very easy and quick way to share photos with others!

Today I explored the world of Flickr and what kind of website it is. Flickr is one of the best online photo management and sharing applications in the world. On Flickr you can upload your pictures from your e-mail and even your phone. Then you can edit the picture and add effects or get rid of something you don't like. Next you can organize your pictures using collections, tags, and sets. After you do that you can share your images with all your homies and loving family members. You could even use maps to show where your pictures were taken. Finally, you could make stuff like cards, photo books, framed prints, and much more. While I explored this website I found a picture that shows why the Yankees won the ALCS and the Angels didn't. In this picture Derek Jeter of the Yankees is running out the ground ball as hard as he can unlike the Angels who played lazy and just walked because they knew it was an automatic out.

New York Yankees v.s. Philadelphia Phillies

What a series it will be! The Yankees will face the Phillies in the 2009 World Series(WS). The first game of the WS will be played on Wednesday, October 29, 2009 in New York City. I'm rooting for the Yankees because they're my second favorite team behind the Anaheim Angels! I know this will be a very competitive series and I believe the Yankees will win in 6 games. If the Yankees win the WS, they will have 27 WS titles which is the most all time! I'll try to update my blog after every game of the World Series. So who do you think will be the 2009 Champions!

Series Over!

What a great season it was for the Angels, but they unfortunately lost the ALCS to the Yankees 4 games to 2. The score of game 6 was 5-2. The Angels had a spectacular season anyway. So the World Series is set! The New York Yankees will face the Philadelphia Phillies. This will be a great series. Congrats to both teams and also the Angels. They fought really hard and never gave up just like the Halos in heaven.

Yankees lead cut to one!

Wow, what a game it was! Game 5 of a 7 game series. The Angels got an early 4 nothing lead in the 4th inning, but blew it in the 7th when the Yankees took a 6-4 lead. Then in the bottom of the eighth the Angels got three more runs thanks to Vladimir Guerrero and Kendry Morales to take a 7-6 lead. Now comes the scary part. There were two outs in the top of the 9th. Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees was intentionally walked. Then two other Yankees got walked so it was bases loaded, 2 outs and Robinson Cano was up. The count was 3-2. Robinson Cano hit a high, but short fly ball that was caught by an Angel, Erick Aybar to win the game and to send the series back to New York for game 6 of the ALCS! I feel it in my heart. I know the Angels can do it because the angels in heaven are rooting for their home team!

BASEBALL!!!!

I love baseball! Baseball is my passion and will forever be. I love baseball whether watching or playing it. I play second base and I usually bat 5th in the lineup. I make very good contact when I swing and I put a lot of power into the bat. The player in the MLB that I look up to the most is Vladimir Guerrero of the Anaheim Angels. The Angels are my favorite team and have been doing a great job this season. This year they made it to the playoffs, but unfortunately are losing to the New York Yankees 3 games to 1. They have done a great job anyway! I love baseball.... and the Anaheim Angels!

Creativity?

How can I be creative in this world?
Almost anything I do in this world is creative. I could make a magnificent piece of art that speaks to me or even a chocolate covered piece of bacon. Both of these are creative. Creativity is all around us and we see and are creative everyday even when we don't know it. Creativity allows us to express our imagination and have fun!

What part will the internet play in helping me be creative?

The internet will help me be creative in many ways. For example, I could search many things I never knew about and make a mixture of pictures which is a creative piece of art. On the internet I could learn more about many things which expands my knowledge and ideas of creativity. The more ideas you have the better you understand creativity.

If I can post my art, videos, or writing work on the internet for the world to see, will this make me work differently then if only my teacher was going to see?
No, I wouldn't work any differently for many reasons. One, I do my best no matter who were to see it. I always want to show everyone my creativity no matter who it is because I love to express my work. Two, who wouldn't want their teachers to see their great work. The better quality your work has the more your teacher will be impressed and give you a good grade!
